Conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) is a polyunsaturated omega-6 fatty acid.
It is often used along with a nutrition plan designed to reduce fat storage or to stabilize weight. It has also been found that 2 g of CLA a day contributes to the maintenance of normal cholesterol level.
CLA is a fatty acid called « essential » because the body cannot produce it. CLA must be provided through the diet. It can be found in some dietary sources of animal origin such as milk, full-fat dairy products, beef or sheep meat. But food could provide only small quantities, about 0,5 to 1 g a day, whereas the optimum dosage is around 2 to 3 g.
